Products: Elevated Planters

To bring more life to a space, I like to recommend bringing in some plants. Don't worry, there are low-maintenance options for those who are known to kill cacti. If your plants are going to be kept in a space with beautiful wood floors, a good way to protect them is by using elevated planters. Below are a few of my favorites.

Mavis Cross Planter by Fern Studio

Mavis Cross Planter by Fern Studio

If you are looking for elevated plant stands that are a bit more chunky but still modern these pieces are for you. These red oak frames are unique in that you can flip them over, adjusting the height of the planter so you have two plant height options with one stand. The two pieces in the front are actually the same size.

These wood plant pot holders are offered in two sizes and are handmade in New Jersey.

Chevron Stand by West Elm

Chevron Stand by West Elm

This powder-coated steel plant stand reminds me of hairpin legs which were first crafted in the early forties, but are now making a comeback! These structural elements were designed during World War II when materials were scarce.

Minimal and light these planters would compliment a modern space or contrast a space with vintage furniture and built-ins.

West Elm offers this piece in two sizes and that are suitable for indoor and outdoor use which is perfect for those plants that like the summer heat but cannot handle a chill in the air.

PS 2017 3-Piece Self-Watering Plant Pot Set - by Ikea

Designers often select the best products—I discovered this product in my college friend's dining room. Not only does this set keep your plant off the ground, but it waters it too! You fill the outer off-white pot with water while the inner terracotta pot holds and hydrates your plant.

Low-maintenance indoor gardening provided by a modern, affordable product? I'm sold.

Case Study Raised Low Pan by Modernica

If you are looking for a low planter with clean geometry, this is perfect. As an Asian inspired piece, this pan would be perfect for showing off a grouping of succulents by placing it in the center of a coffee table or another low piece that can easily be viewed from above.

The stoneware pan is available in white, pebble, and charcoal—all with a matte finish. The stand is available in a metal black or Brazilian walnut.

Rattan Plant Stand by Anthropologie

With a golden tone, these rattan plant stands could quickly add visual warmth to a room. The organic and handmade feel also exude a bohemian feel, especially if the plant stand is paired with more structured plants as shown here.

This piece by Anthropologie is offered in two sizes and is only available online.
