It’s Easy Being Green

We’ve wanted to design a green kitchen for some time, but needed the right client to come along. This small kitchen footprint needed to be be reworked to accommodate a family of three, one of whom is an executive chef.

  • Design priorities included maximizing storage, swapping the location of the sink and range (so that the sink would allow a view of the lake beyond their back porch), and getting rid of the drop ceiling.

We shifted the kitchen entry to allow for a pantry cabinet on the refrigerator wall, added a double-basin farmhouse sink, new lighting throughout, classic white subway tile, and topped the base cabinets off with a dark, soapstone-look quartz.

Our client now has a functional, airy kitchen with plenty of storage.

With both adults in our household working full time, demanding jobs, we knew it would be difficult to manage contractors and products and everything else that goes into a major project. Having SG23’s team to help with procurement and contractor oversight was a HUGE help and removed a ton of stress from our project. We had several things that arrived damaged or delayed and they were so on top of it (even scheduling appliance repair people for us when the dishwasher was malfunctioning) that we never felt any sense of worry through any piece of the project.
